The wellbeing, health, and safety of all Tōtara Hospice's patients, their families/whānau, our workforce, visitors and communities continue to be of paramount importance to us.
Wearing of masks is required at all times when visiting a patient in the Inpatient unit or supporting a patient to attend an Out Patient appointment or the Te Puna Ora Living Well Centre.
Masks are available at Reception and in the unit – please ask a staff member for one
The Tōtara Hospice team asks that patients and their families share the following visiting guidelines so that everyone has a safe and respectful time in the Inpatient Unit.
Whānau/family and friends are always welcome between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week at Tōtara Hub.
The Inpatient unit can support up to 9 patients at a time, and with this in mind, we need you to help us respect each of our patients’ rights to privacy and safety. Here are our guidelines to help you whilst visiting:
Here at Tōtara Hospice we encourage family and friends to visit patients. This is balanced with the fact that we need to be mindful that patients can get tired very quickly. Also, patients have the right to choose who can visit them, the staff will always respect the patients’ choice, as should any visitors that are asked to not visit. There may be some exceptions to the above guidelines, we are happy to discuss with you on an individual basis.
You are welcome to call 09 640 0025 to discuss further.
Tōtara House is located at Tōtara House, 140 Charles Prevost Drive, The Gardens, Manurewa (location map).
