Palliative care is a team effort. At Tōtara Hospice, we work in partnership with healthcare professionals to provide advice and ensure that patients, carers and whānau receive the care and support they need. The sooner we are contacted after a patient’s terminal diagnosis the more we can support you, and them. Our service is provided free of charge.

Unsure about eligibility?

If you're unsure about a patient's eligibility or if the patient does not meet all the criteria but may still benefit from specialist palliative care services, please contact us to discuss the referral further. Prognosis can be uncertain, and we're here to help assess individual cases.
