Make a difference - support your community and Help Make Hospice Happen

How you can help:

Although we receive between 50 to 60% of our funds from the government, this leaves us with a significant shortfall of many millions per year. Our teams work hard to make up this deficit through fundraising, our retail shops, and more. Without the support of generous people like you, we couldn't offer our services free of charge.

There are many ways to support us, from volunteering, attending an event, and making a donation, to giving in memory of a loved one.

    A gift left in your Will is a wonderful way to support our work beyond your lifetime. It is a gesture of kindness that means a great deal to our patients and the whānau of those we care for

    Memorial gifts

    Cherish the memory of your loved one with a timeless tribute in the form of a memorial ceramic, brick plaque, or love-lock padlock. A memorial gift forms a special connection between your whānau and the Hospice, providing a lasting memory

  • Stand by me regular giving

    Committing to making a regular gift to the Hospice helps future-proof our services and provides us with a sustainable monthly income to support our operations. To make a regular gift, please click our donation button in the top right corner of the page

  • Friends of Hospice annual subscription

    Friends of Hospice is an annual subscription of $50 to Tōtara Hospice. It supports the day-to-day running of our services

  • In lieu of flowers

    Sometimes, people prefer donations to the Hospice instead of flowers, as they find it reassuring to know that their loved one is having a positive impact on the local community. To do this, just inform your funeral director about donating to Tōtara Hospice, and they will handle the rest. We will inform you of the total amount donated within three months and provide a list of donors who contributed in memory of your loved one

  • Become a partner

    We can make a far bigger impact working in partnership than we could acting alone, and we are incredibly grateful to work with some amazing corporate and school partners who support our mahi and help get our message out there
